Business Response Customer Service rep reached out to homeowner on 9/17 leaving a voicemail and emailed on 9/18 to go over his issues. Homeowner responded to email on 9/21 and also spoke with Production Manager *** @ 10:31am CST who apologized that issues were not being handled in a timely manner. Customer Service Manager spoke with homeowner on 9/27 @ 9:11am CST and sent follow up email documenting issues to be corrected. Working with Mr. on addressing all concerns. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Job isn't complete. The inspection process was skipped and it's been a month in a half for completion going on 2 months. No one calls back on time. I have contract on the home and this needs to be resolved and Apex Roofing needs to held accountable. They are to big of a company and can't keep up with production. They hire sub contractors that aren't clean and professional. My neighbors had their roofs completed in 3-4 days. This is inexcusable. Business Response Mr. insurance carrier confirmed on 9/28 via a release of claims that the remaining balance due is being sent to him in the form of two checks. Those checks should be arriving to his home within two weeks of that date. His mortgage company is a payor on the checks. Once those checks are received we recommend in the interest of time that he have his mortgage company's local branch office endorse the checks. (Mailing the checks could take much longer.) Once complete and resulting funds are received for the balance due, Apex can expedite a lien release.

I had a AOB contract with Apex. A settlement was reached and the check sent to Apex. There is a $*** cancellation fee. APEX has had the check for 2 months and refuses to take their $*** out and Mail me the difference. If I borrowed $*** to get the check released Wells Fargo would not refund my $***. This check requires four signatures. Apex states I must speak to a manager who will not accept or return my call. I am getting the run around for 2 months.

In October , a large tree fell on our home in ***, AL from a hurricane that came through that month. We had had a new roof put on by APEX Roofing in ***, AL several years before, so we called them about repairing the roof. It took multiple calls to get them to even respond, much less perform the job the agreed to. Each time we would call - they said we "fell through the cracks." We talked multiple times to ***, then ***. We worried about rain and ice during this time without the repair being done, concerned we would have additional damage to the house. We didn't even have a DATE they were coming. They finally came in April to repair the roof, some FIVE MONTHS after the damage. We had to call another construction company to finally to finish the job - since we were not aware they would not repair the soffits and other parts - and APEX would not CALL US BACK. A simple call would have told us they were not doing anything else. We did not sign a work completio

Business Response Homeowner contacted Apex in November requesting a tarp. Once the tarp was completed we were awaiting a quote to present to the homeowner and were working with their insurance company to obtain a supplement to complete the repair. The supplement was approved on 3/12 and Ms. reached out to the homeowner to have documents signed. The contracts were signed on 3/23. Customer Service Mgr spoke with the homeowner on 3/23 @ 3:09pm CST informing him of date to repair. The homeowner requested the date of Tuesday, 4/6 as he wanted to be home. The work per signed contract was performed on 4/6 and homeowner was subsequently invoiced at a later date. Please find the attached Customer Agreement/Pricing Detail and Ins. Scope detailing the work that was contracted to be performed. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We were NEVER ALLOWED to sign off on the work - or asked if it was acceptable or completed. We always thought they were coming back. APEX is correct about the contract, and we were confused about what it entailed. The problem we had is terrible lack of communication and customer service from APEX. A simple CALL BACK would have told us they weren't coming back to do the additional work and given us opportunity to ask questions, review the work. We assumed we never got a bill (our bill came almost 6 months to the day after the work was "completed") because they didn't finish, as we thought. We were treated terribly when we called about the bill. A VERY RUDE man named *** called us back. We tried to discuss it civilly with him but it almost turned into a shouting match. He just kept repeating a mantra about what "we did wrong," and TALKED ON TOP OF US. I had to remind him several times that we were the customers, we had spent thousands with them on a roof a few years before, etc. We had misunderstood what they were going to do, yes, but a simple phone call to us at the time would have fixed that. We waiting MONTHS thinking they were coming back and then *** complained about us not communicating! WHAT A JOKE. I guess customer service is not what it used to be. And I'm guessing they won't own their mistakes here, either. Business Response Apex completed all functional repairs for which it was engaged via signed contract by Mr. in April. We do acknowledge and apologize for the delay in invoicing and void in follow-up communication which caused the confusion Mr. expressed. Although we re-inspected the roof on 10/20 and did not notice any additional work completed since Apex completed the initial repair in April, nor were compensated for the work contracted and completed, Apex is willing to forgive Mr.' debt in exchange for closing this matter. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) We appreciate their offer.Thank you.

On 03 April 2022 I signed an Assignment of Benefits (AOB) with Apex Roofing. In accordance with Florida law, I have 14 days to cancel the AOB, and on 12 April 2022 I called Apex Roofing to cancel it. I was told by the answering service that they would send my information to the appropriate branch of the company and I would be contacted shortly. No one from Apex called me on 12 April. I called again on 13 April 2022 and again on 14 April, 2022, speaking with a different agent each time and being told each time that someone would contact me soon. I also emailed a written and signed document stating that I am canceling the assignment of benefits to Apex at the email address on their website on 13 April, and I asked for acknowledgment of receipt. I have not received an email response. I am filing this complaint because Apex Roofing has refused thus far to acknowledged my cancelation of the Assignment of Benefits and has not issued the reassignment of benefits back to me.

Apex Roofing came soliciting to our home on 4/14/22

Apex Roofing came soliciting to our home on 4/14/22. They offered to inspect our roof at no charge. They found so called damages, said we needed new roof. They did not give us an estimate on what they would charge to put on a new roof. Said they would handle everything with the insurance company and if insurance company would not agree to pay for a new roof then Apex would start litigation against them. We signed an assignment of benefits form which we did not see the agreement until after we signed on a tablet. We called Apex on 4/18/22 to cancel the contract/assignment of benefits/direct deposit authorization and hold harmless agreement. Apex asked us for an email requesting cancellation. We sent email with cancellation request as they asked on 4/18/22. Katherine said she would be sending reassignment of benefits form to us right then 4/18/22. They have not sent anything us to us, no correspondance, nothing. We have sent emails every day and called with no response. The only thing we want from Apex is confirmation of our cancellation and reassignment of benefits. Our insurance company is also requesting this info from us. I would also like to say that Apex told us many untruths when they were at our home.

I filed an insurance claim in early 2020 for roof damage

I filed an insurance claim in early 2020 for roof damage. Insurance denied the claim. Signed an AOB. I want to be released from Apex due to that my roofing case is beyond the specified 6-12 month timeline(see attached letter signed 2/24), it's going to be almost 2 years and this business has not done anything to help me besides just putting Tarps. These are the reasons why I don't want to work anymore with Apex: *Poor communication and customer service (see attached email asking for multiple updates and being ignored). *I was pressured to sign an AOB again and pay the full pre settlement build roof amount, if not Apex won't be doing the roof for the pre settlement build. I never received biweekly notices as stated on the signed 2/24 letter. *This situation has caused tremendous amount of stress, anxiety and a lot of personal problems in my household. *My HOA has sent me two notices. I'm going to get fined if this doesn't get resolved. I've contacted Apex and the attorneys about this matter and nothing was done about it. This has turned out to be a nightmare and I would not recommend anyone to this company. If they are a good and honest company that looks up to the customer needs, they would release me so I can replace the roof on my own.

Business Response We apologize for the longer than usual delay in getting Mr. claim resolved with the insurance provider. Apex has also deleted the inactive phone number listed with the Complaintsboard.com that he was attempting to call. Apex will release Mr. from the assignment, less work completed which the company will remit to the insurance provider. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) On 1/12/22 discussed with an Apex representative about complaint. Apex representative was very understanding and helpful about the situation. Provided me with options and we came to an agreement to allow Apex 30 days to secure a decision from my insurance provider regarding the claim and provide the requested release.

Apex Roofing was hired to do the roof on my house. They filed a lien against my property. Roof was completed and they were paid in full. As of today,I still do not have my release of lien even though they were paid in full many months ago. I have called numerous times to get it and get nothing but a run around. I WANT MY RELEASE OF LEIN ON MY PROPERTY! Since I keep getting a runaround I will share my experiences with Apex Roofing every change I get. They are NOT PROFESSIONAL!

I signed an "Hold Harmless Agreement", with Apex roofing, dated Mar 15, 2022 when their representatives indicated that there was roof damage

I signed an "Hold Harmless Agreement", with Apex roofing, dated Mar 15, 2022 when their representatives indicated that there was roof damage. This was an electronic signature upon a tablet. After serval inquires to get a digital copy of the agreement, I realized that I was shown only the first page of a 4 page document. In addition my signature and initials appeared on pages that I was never show. On Mar 17, 2022 I contacted and Apex representative indicating the above and that I wish to cancel the agreement. I sent an email upon her request indicating my wishes to cancel and why. A follow up phone call on Mar 18, 2022, having been told that everything has been canceled, I asked for written confirmation in the form of an email and/or a signed release form. As today Mar 23, 2022 I have not yet received this written confirmation even after daily phone calls and follow up email messages. I have contacted my insurance company *** (Claim XXXXXX) to keep them in the loop of my actions with Apex. I believe that I have complied with not only the agreement "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PENALTY WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER THIS AGREEMENT IS EXECUTED" and the Florida law (3 day to cancel) As APEX has not complied with my request for written confirmation of the cancellation and has ignored my calls and emails I felt I have no choice to file this complaint. This complaint is against: Apex Roofing & restoration ***, FL XXXXX

We were provided the incorrect shingles and drip edge

We were provided the incorrect shingles and drip edge. Work is still not complete. We have chimney still unpainted and our leaf guards not installed. 2 days before installation we received a call the shingles we picked were not available and we settled on others to keep the job moving forward. This took several calls to get someone to the house to show us what we had available to us. Among other things a white drip edge was installed, we have a brown house. No one in their right mind would have chosen white on brown yet we were told we signed the contract that said we selected these. Someone where in the 50 pages we apparently selected a white drip edge. As of today we still have an unpainted chimney land lead guards that were on our gutters laying to the side of the house. We were told that our house would be put back the way they found it. 3 months later, we have leaf guards sitting, waiting to be reinstalled (as fall comes to fill them and hurricanes come around dumping buckets of water in the monthly). We have a chimney unpainted, we have a white drip edge that was said to be replaced but has not. A sample shingle that nobody has bothered to come and get AND our insurance companies check that is Apex' once they finish the job or tell us that they won't. Should it be the latter we are happy to complete all the outstanding items ourselves and send the checks back to our insurance company to avoid having filed a claim. In all this time, the last time we heard from anyone was in Sept saying they would fix the drip edge and the QA guy who came the day after install. Strange time to come and ask how it went if the jobs not even done. The dumpster wasn't even gone yet.

Business Response Customer Service spoke with Mrs. on 10/30 regarding the painting of the drip edge and chimney. She was also waiting for the gutter guards to be reinstalled. I informed the homeowner we would be out on Monday 11/2 to complete all work, apologized for the delay and appreciated their patience on resolution. Customer Service spoke with Mr. on November 4 who stated the drip edge and chimney had been painted, however, not all the guards were put back. There was a camper in the way in one section and the homeowner was aware. Customer Service Rep *** reached out to the homeowner on 11/12 and he stated that he completed the other section of gutter guards and all issues were now resolved. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) This is exactly what happened.

In June I hired Apex Roofing to replace my roof

In June I hired Apex Roofing to replace my roof. Included in the package was replacing my gutters. The company Apex contracted was, *** Seamless Gutters, resulted in poor installation and work performance. My new gutters leak and it is creating a pool of water in my patio area. Specifically, when installing the rear super gutter they covered the smaller side gutter so the rain hits the wall of the super gutter and is redirected into the soffets. They should have left space for the rain to fall into the lower gutter and run to the downspout. When I brought this to Apex's attention that is when my frustration began. Apex came up with excuses after excuses on why they are not responsible even though it is their name on the paperwork. First they claim since it was not their company they are not responsible. Second, they claim that if I want the gutter re-installed that is "extra" work which I would have to pay for. When I had the gutter company out they acknowledged the leak and blamed Apex claiming the leak is from Apex's poor roof replacement. *** Seamless Gutters tried a cheap, quick fix by puttin a clump of caulking where the wall of the super gutter meets the roof, hoping that would re-direct the water. That did not work. When I called Apex back they took the position that "the gutter probably leaked before, so it is ok for it to leak now". Besides the fact it did not leak before, new gutters are not suppose to leak. Now I requested all copies of all papwork and photo about the work involved in my roof. Needless to say Apex is being very uncooperative. So I am preparing to *** Apex which I do not want to do. If Complaintsboard.com can help I would certainly appreciate it.

Business Response Apex is investigating this matter further. Apex has reason to believe that the issue is pre-existing and is not related to the roof installation or subject insurance claim. However, Apex is in good faith exploring suitable remedies which it has to determine. Apex will supplement this response with further details as they become available. Consumer Response Apex did not come out to the house to address the gutter problem. Instead, they came out because we discovered our attic fans were missing. During the roof work Apex removed our attic fans and left the live wires hanging loose. I will say they immedately saw their error and ordered new solar ventng for our attic. I had to shut off the circuit breaker and secure the loose wires. As for the gutters, I hired a different gutter company that came out to the house and repaired the poor workmanship from Apex's company. Apex does not offer any warrenty on their products or services. At least none that they were willing to honor. I would like to thank the Complaintsboard.com for prompting Apex to contact me. Without the Complaintsboard.com I don't think they would have returned my calls. Ty Complaintsboard.com. Business Response Apex replaced rotted fascia before reinstalling the new gutters in the original position. Further, it was determined through testing that the issue was due to excess water being channeled by the roof valley over the gutters and not a leak between the gutter and fascia. Apex was in process of determining a suitable solution when the homeowner advised that he had already resolved the matter with another vendor. Apex was very recently made aware of the vent issue and discovered it had capped the wires in the attic for safety. It has since installed solar panel vents under warranty as approved by the homeowner. We regret the inconvenience and do pledge to honor eligible workmanship warranties.

Sometime in October Apex was surveying our neighborhood and giving quotes to replace roofs in the area

Sometime in October Apex was surveying our neighborhood and giving quotes to replace roofs in the area. We received a quote for around ***, which they told us they would get with our insurance provider in order to get the roof replaced due to the type of damages that were present. At that point, our claim was forwarded to an attorneys office which was referred to us through Apex. We no longer heard a word from Apex and our phone calls were left unreturned on several occasions. Upon completion of the settlement, we suddenly started receiving phone calls from Apex and were instructed to to sign the documents as soon as possible. When we began to discuss the quoted price, Apex had severely increased their quote from *** to now totaling more than ***. We had taken the time to shop around for quotes from several other companies that were significantly less than what Apex was attempting to recover. There is only one word for this type of activity, GREED! At this time, we realized that Apex was not being transparent and truthful in providing information or documentation throughout the claim process regarding our roof replacement and these significant changes in the quoted price for the roof replacement. On April 11th, we received, signed and returned a release document which included an agreement to pay a cancellation fee to Apex and then would be forwarded to our insurance company by Apex in order to have them removed from the settlement check. It is now April 27th and the documents releasing Apex still have not been submitted to our insurance company. This has inhibited our ability to claim our settlement check and the funds required to begin replacing our roof with a new and more professional company.

Here's the sequence of events: 1

Here's the sequence of events: 1. I signed the agreement 04/15. 2. My calls regarding progress were not returned. 3. The permit wasn't even pulled until 09/21 and only after I got a hold of a live secretary. 4. I kept calling to ask when the work would be done and there was no answer until they sent a letter the week before they were to have begun the work. 5. I was told that materials would be delivered 10/15 and work would start on 10/18. 6. The materials were finally delivered 10/25. 7. I had been told that I would be contacted ahead of time to move my car. They did not contact me and when I walked out to try to go to the store 10/26 the dumpster was in front of my garage door with my car trapped inside. It wasn't removed until 10/28, even though I contacted them the same day it was put there. 8. They finally began work 10/27. 9. The roofers broke the drain pipe from the gutter and have given no response to my requests to have it fixed. It wasn't even on the roof, but on the side of my lanai. 10. They ripped up the edging around my walkways. 11. They took down my satellite dish and dumped it on the ground. I'll have to pay $50 to DTV to have it fixed. I've already paid $150 to take down the solar panels since they wouldn't do it. 12. They left a very large and heavy piece of plywood in front of my house which partially blocked my walkway. It still has not been taken away. A guy came and moved it aside after two days of my reporting it. He did not bring a large enough truck to take it away. 13. I called the company on 10/28 and left a message regarding these issues that has not been replied to. I told my case manager 13. I called the company on 10/28 and left a message regarding these issues that has not been replied to. I told my case manager that I was considering filing a complaint.

Business Response We regret the delays this homeowner experienced. Payment for the work (less $1000 deductible) was received on 7/7, which in part caused the downstream delays with permitting and materials delivery. For her inconvenience Apex is willing to complete the remaining minor repairs (downspout and edging) once the $1,000 deductible is paid in full per Florida law.

We contracted Apex Roofing to replace our roof thru an insurance claim in late 2018

We contracted Apex Roofing to replace our roof thru an insurance claim in late 2018. They installed our new roof on 1-4-2019. After the roof install was complete we ended up with 3 flat tires from nails that they had missed. About a month later when the first storm rolled in we found out that our new roof makes a flapping noise when the wind blows just right. We contacted Apex and they sent a tech out. The tech heard the noise and attributed it to the soffit vibrating when the wind blew and left me to deal with it since this was not in their scope of work. I continued troubleshooting and determined it is not the soffit. Contacted Apex again and they sent another tech out. This time the tech blamed the noise on the vinyl siding of the house. We played this game for another 2+ years and they continue to blame everything but the work they performed. Now that we are 3 years post roof replacement my roof is still flapping and keeping us awake at night and Apex continues to blame everything but the roof even though that is the only thing left and I have video proof showing the bottom row of shingles vibrating in the breeze. I contacted another roofing company and they came to take a look. They informed me that the roof was not installed properly and does not meet building code. Drip edge is a building code requirement and none was installed. Also, the bottom row of shingles were cut too short. The short shingles will allow wind and moisture to get under the edge of the roof and create a lot of problems. I have been in touch with the "Head of Customer Experience" at Apex, ***, but after calling these items to his attention it has been radio silence. Currently waiting to hear back from Apex and have the city out to complete an overdue final inspection. Apex should do the right thing here and stand behind their work and honor their warranty. This issue needs to be resolved and it needs to be resolved sooner rather than later.

Business Response Apex completed installation of the roof on 1/4. It was first made aware of the noise on 10/29. Apex made four attempts to isolate the cause of the noise, as the homeowner was likewise not able to attribute the noise to a specific cause. On 10/28, the homeowner notified Apex that the matter had been resolved by another contractor. On 2/3/22 the homeowner reopened the matter with Apex stating the noise had returned. Apex sent the homeowner eight follow-up communications and scheduled another in-person attempt to isolate the cause, including advising the homeowner as to how to safely identify the cause. On 2/16/22, Apex conducted a fifth in-person inspection with the homeowner present to replicate the noise to no avail. On 2/18/22, the homeowner sent Apex a video which seemed to isolate the cause stemming from a slight lift in the roof decking upon wind gusts. Although Apex was not contracted or approved by the insurance carrier to replace decking as part of the original scope of work, it nonetheless offered both temporary and permanent solution options so as to immediately curtail the annoyance of the noise. On 2/22/22, the homeowner advised Apex that he had scheduled a final inspection with the municipality. (Final inspections are not required by the municipality.) On 2/24/22 Apex advised the homeowner that Apex would attend the inspection. On 2/28/22 Apex attended the inspection, during which time it learned that the city's enforceable building code had changed while the claim was in process and four months prior to the first installation date to include mandatory drip edge. It is important to note that neither the homeowner nor the homeowner's insurance carrier ever paid Apex to install drip edge. Further, Apex maintains that installation of drip edge is for the sole purpose of blocking moisture from the fascia and soffit. Drip edge is not a remedy for loose decking. In good faith, Apex will install drip edge and resecure the one section of decking attributable to the reported noise.

This company is a complete disaster to deal with

This company is a complete disaster to deal with. Your calls go to a call center and no one calls you back for weeks at a time. Company tried several times unsuccessfully to patch leaks until my roof was replaced. They removed tiles from my roof in December to patch a leak and never put the tiles back until the roof was replaced in October . After the roof was finished, a 32 foot extension ladder showed up so that the county could do the final inspection. The same day that the ladder showed up, a section of soffit went missing. Can't really pin this on Apex, but it definitely happened the day the ladder showed up, as I had gone around the house with another contractor the day prior for a gutter bid. I called at least 5 times and went down to their Fort Myers office about the ladder and the soffit. They kept telling me it wasn't their ladder anchored to my house. I finally ended up paying someone else to take down the ladder and fix the soffit. 5 weeks after reporting this the problem, someone called me to schedule the soffit fix and come get the ladder, which someone had finally come and picked up a week earlier. Now the title company from my refinance called me and said that Apex had put a contractor lien on my house for a balance due. I paid the full amount of my contract in 2 payments, 50% after the tear off and 50% after installation. When I made the 2nd payment, the AR person confirmed the balance was paid in full. Of course that person no longer works for the company and the people who refused to sign the lien release for the title company are not returning my calls. Please do not be fooled by the overwhelming amount of 5 star reviews like I was. Apex offers to pay you for certain things to reduce your insurance deductible, such as putting their sign in your yard and leaving 5 star reviews. I will say that the people they subbed out the actual roof work to did a great job. I wish I would have just hired them in the first place.

Business Response Per Mr. comment, the matter is resolved. We regret the inconvenience to Mr. and were more than willing to resolve the matter on the same day of his complaint. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Upper management of APEX contacted me regarding my complaint. We discussed all of the issues that occurred throughout the process. Lack of communication was the main issue. Management acknowledged and apologized for the issues I had. I understand this is a big company and mistakes happen. At the end of the day, like I said in the initial review, the actual work and roof appears to be great. I have no complaints whatsoever at this point regarding the quality of work (we have not had much rain since work was completed). I was assured that if any issues with the roof do occur during our rainy season, they will be promptly addressed. Management also informed me that they are no longer offering insurance deductible incentives for 5 star reviews and advertising. I initially talked with APEX in November and management assured me that these incentives have since stopped.

In June I contracted with Apex Roofing and Restoration for a new roof

In June I contracted with Apex Roofing and Restoration for a new roof. My insurance company issued a check for half the estimated cost, the balance to be paid upon completion of the job. Because we have solar panels, my contact at Apex told me to arrange for the solar panel removal and reinstallation and assured me that my expenses for the solar panel work would be part of the insurance claim, reimbursed once the job was done and the claim settled. The roofing work was done 9/17. On 10/21 I received a copy of a letter sent to Apex from my insurance company, requesting paperwork needed from Apex. It read, "We are in receipt of your request for a supplement with regard to Mr. and Mrs. ----------'s roof estimate. An email was sent to you on four occasions requesting the Eagleview or whatever source used to determine the size of the roof and a receipt for the permit fee. To date the request has gone unanswered. Please respond to this request so we can process any additional supplement warranted. If we do not receive a response, the claim will be closed." I forwarded that letter to Apex and received no response. On 10/29 I received a copy of a followup message from the insurance carrier, saying the paperwork still had not been received and the file was being closed. I forwarded that letter to my contact at Apex with an urgent request for action. A week later I received a response saying that the carrier's letter was standard practice and had been sent prematurely. In mid-November I contacted the insurance company for advice. I was told that Apex routinely makes money by delaying and suing the carrier, who then settles, and that if I provided invoices for the solar panel work and evidence that the roof work was done, the claim could be paid. Right away, I received checks for the balance of the original roofing estimate and solar work, payable to me and Apex. I forwarded those checks to Apex on 12/8, two months ago, and have still received nothing.

Business Response Apex has reviewed the file. Per contract, homeowner's deductible is $1,000 plus $410 in wood charges. This amount will be withheld from the refund due. Total refund to be issued is $2,020. Apex occasionally files supplemental claims in instances of underpayment by insurance carriers, which can result in refund delays. Apex regrets the delay. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Apparently, filing a Complaintsboard.com complaint prompts Apex to action. I have now heard from Apex and been asked to sign an agreement stating that I will have to repay any part of the payment Apex makes to me if the insurance company doesn't agree to cover whatever additional costs Apex has asked it to cover. I am not sure what to expect in light of this agreement, and I wish I had never dealt with Apex. But I'm relieved to be told that Apex will send me a check finally.

I felt like I was scammed from the moment I opened the door

I felt like I was scammed from the moment I opened the door. I had a gentleman from Apex Roofing in Tampa, telling me they was in the neighborhood doing roof inspections, can they inspect mine. They also stated they could get me a roof with little to no money out of pocket if I had damage. I said you can look at it if you want. A couple weeks later a salesman shows up, with shingle samples. he tried to get me to sign a power of attorney to deal with my insurance and leave me out of the loop. I was not comfortable with that, he said we wont start anything then until you send a check in, if you get one. After 90 days , I heard nothing, I see an email to my insurance company asking for the supplemental claim for the roof. I responded and asked how is this taking place , when I have heard from nobody about anything. A few days later a guy named Josh called me. The conversation ended up very rude, and I no longer wanted anything to do with the company after being treated like that. There was no work started, he even stated that they didn't even carry in stock, what I was originally interested in. 60 days after that, I receive a phone call stating I owe $*** to break contract. I am requesting that there be no fees, since no work was completed, and a statement saying they have no rights to a insurance claim so my insurance can close out the claim. I feel the company strategy is to pressure people to sign stuff then they treat you ever how they want and if you don't like it, they want to come after you or your insurance for money they didn't earn. Over 20 years in the military, I have never let people disrespect me and I should have to start now. I do sales now, and I couldn't imagine speaking to a customer the way he spoke to me and then expect to get paid for work that didn't even begin to start. I feel for anyone who opens the door to them, they will endure the same nightmare. I hope this can be resolved and I hope the company can change their tactics.

After reviewing the homeowner's file, Apex Roofing and Restoration is sorry our service was not up to the homeowner's expectations. The timeline of events relayed in this complaint are not in alignment with our records and file history. Apex began working with the homeowner in July. In August , Apex attended an adjuster inspection on the homeowner's behalf, and submitted all of our documentation to the carrier. Rachel, the admin for the homeowner's file, continued follow up with the carrier and made contact to keep the homeowner aware and document his file. In September, the homeowner notified Apex of an approval on his claim, and subsequently signed a complete build contract on 10/1. The contract clearly indicates supplemental estimates will be billed to the carrier. The only reason there was a delay on the install is because Apex had to work with the homeowner's mortgage carrier to complete check endorsements. It is our opinion that we have serviced the homeowner and his home to the best of our abilities, and did everything we could to make this process quick and efficient. The homeowner chose to enter into a contract with Apex Roofing and Restoration to replace his roof. He later elected to invoke the cancellation provision within said contract. The provision that the homeowner chose to elect, has a cancellation fee as stated in the provision. We can work with the homeowner on payment options.

We had roof damage from Irma 2 years after our home was built

We had roof damage from Irma 2 years after our home was built. Two Apex representatives offered with well-practiced lines that they would file the claim with the insurance company, and if the insurance company balked Apex would engage a law firm to negotiate a settlement. And since we had already incurred costs to repair lanai cage damage from Irma, they repeatedly emphasized that the amount of the lanai repair ($***) would be applied against our insurance deductible ($***). However, their appointed law firm reached a settlement with the insurance company that negotiated away the lanai storm costs we had incurred earlier, leaving us with the full $*** deductible, not $*** per their representatives' claim. But it gets much worse. We chose a tile color for our new roof, but the one they put on (April 28), while largely the color we chose, contains a second considerably different color scattered randomly across the roof. Apex told us that it would take a year of weather for an "efflorescence phenomenon" to occur after which the tiles would be uniform. In the meantime, we were to accept and live with a ridiculous looking roof. We initially declined to pay the $*** demanded to cover the deductible (we never had any direct insurance company involvement) until the tile discoloration issue was resolved. In response, and without any discussion, they filed a lien against our property, forcing us to pay the $*** to avoid an adverse credit rating. (They maintain that they are prohibited from covering the deductible, which seems like good law, but could have provided us with a similar good faith credit from their profits until the issue was resolved.) Furthermore, the gutters they installed vibrate with the wind causing an obnoxious noise. Apex has been contacted on the gutters and notified that a year is nearly up to examine the discoloration of the tiles. There has been no response to numerous emails or calls. They have our money; we have a very bad product.

I have had a terrible experience with APEX and will never recommend it to any of my friends or family

I have had a terrible experience with APEX and will never recommend it to any of my friends or family. I have been patiently waiting on APEX for over a year now to have my roof replaced, and have gotten nowhere. It has gotten so bad, that I feel the need to write my first review ever and warn others about what really goes on with this company. In December, they sent a random representative knocking on my door saying they could process my roof through my insurance. I was already planning on replacing my roof in the upcoming months, so I went ahead with the process. It is now February 2022, I have been suffering with a leaking roof for the last 9 months. When this initially happened I called APEX and they sent someone out to put a tarp on the roof for $1600. They did a terrible installation job, in less than 30 days half of it was flapping around in the air and I was back to water leaking in my house. I constantly reached out for them for over a month with no one getting back to me. After 2 months a lawyer was able to get ahold of them. APEX came out again, re-tarped the roof, and charged my account $3000. Double the original price to come out and fix the bad job they did in the first place. I tried reaching out to them for a few more months to get an update on my case and they were no help at all. Their exact words was "We have not been able to get ahold of your the lawyer we assigned to your case, so you just have to wait for now, we will let you know when we hear something". I received that same back and fourth for the last 10 months. In December , I complained to them about the about how my living conditions are affected, the interior areas that suffered from the leaking roof has started to rot and form bits of mold. APEX sent their people to my house a few weeks later (the beginning of January 2022), they did absolutely nothing, they walked around on the roof, took pictures of the existing tarp they placed their a few months back, and charged my acc

Business Response Apex regrets that resolution on this matter between the homeowner and their insurance carrier via the legal process has taken longer than the homeowner would prefer. As the homeowner alludes to in the complaint, until the matter is resolved between the homeowner via legal counsel and the insurance carrier, Apex is unable to resume and complete the work necessary. Again, Apex regrets and empathize with the homeowner regarding this delay.
